We are steadily heading toward the holiday season and here’s the last feature update before the end of the year. And what a year it has been! So many new features released, and issues fixed, not to mention the new Mini Teams window experience rolling out on Windows 11. Thank you so much for using Microsoft Teams (free) and sending us feedback!
In November we added the capability to upload and use custom images as background in meetings in Teams (free) on Windows 11! This means you can enhance your virtual presence by selecting the perfect background for your meetings or calls, whether it’s a nice beach or mountain view, or maybe a photo of your family. It’s your choice now.
How to add and use a custom background in Teams (free) on Windows 11
- Join the meeting as you normally do.
- Open the More menu from the top toolbar and select Background effects.
- A panel with the Background Effects options appear, tap Add new and select the image you want to use from your computer.
- Scroll down to see your newly uploaded background, tap it to select, and then tap Apply to use it in the meeting or call.
You can find detailed steps for customizing meeting backgrounds in here.
